Excursion to Cala Goloritze
Starting point: locality Su Porteddu in the Golgo Plateau, Baunei
Description: From Baunei you reach the plateau of Golgo. Coming from the South, turn right after St Nicholas church in Baunei and follow the directions to San Pietro (St Peter)- Golgo. After a few hairpin turns, you reach the Supramonte. After 8 Km you leave the paved road and you take the unpaved way on your right (Signals for Cala Goloritzé); the parking and the bar restaurant “su porteddu” is more or less after 1,5 km.
You leave the car in the parking and start on the well visible footpath. At the beginning the path goes up, arriving 470 meters high above sea level.
You continue on a Mule track to ”bacu Goloritzè”, which is the rill taking you to the homonymous bay, cala Goloritzè. The path runs easily downhill within big holm oaks, ancient animal shelters and mediterranean scrub. Return by boat is not allowed.
At around a few hundred meters from the beach you go past the left side of the “Aguglia”, the big limestone pinnacle, destination of lots of climbers (the first time the Aguglia was ascended was in 1981 from Manolo and Alessandro Gogna). The entrance to the beach is facilitated through wooden passageways.
