Excursion from Santa Maria Navarrese to Pedra Longa

Starting point: Bar “Sa Cadrea”, Santa Maria Navarrese

Description: easy naturalistic excursion, a taste of the Selvaggio Blu trek, but nonetheless a spectacular mixture of shiny green, deep blue and white colours!

Starting point is the panoramic point “Sa Cadrea”, which you can reach driving from the center of Santa Maria Navarrese, going up in Viale Plammas until the restaurant “Il Pozzo”, and taking via Pedralonga until you reach the Hostel Bellavista and the bar Sa Cadrea. On the left of the bar a wooden sign indicates the beginning of the path.
Pass the gate (please close it after your passage) and walk north through cistus and mastic tree bushes.. After a small stretch uphill (just two minutes), you keep going straight (if you take the way on your left, you go to Su Rele locality) and soon you reach the picnic area “Ardalafé”.On your right a small track downhill would bring you to the sea, but you have to go straight away northwards. In a short time you reach a fork, a signal indicates that on the right the path takes you to “Su Runcu Nieddu”, downhill to the sea. Keep on the left. After 30 minutes you have the third fork, not marked. On the right, the track runs downhill to the small “Follò” grove but take the path on your left and reach the small dry riverbank. Go beyond and keep the north. Go north again walking as far as you reach a rock ladder. Follow the red signs, turn left under a carob tree, and then again right, direction north. . Pedralonga is now in front of you, your path is surrounded by rockrose, strawberry trees, juniper, and rarely some turpentines. Before reaching it you pass on a small cliff where we suggest you to stop a minute to enjoy and take some pictures. The path ends on the paved street going to the parking in front of the restaurant. The way back is the same, except if you prefer to return driving along state road 125.
