B&B ByNos
We named our B&B ByNos because we wanted to recall the probable origins of the place name of our village Baunei, which is said to derive, in fact, from the Greek word ‘Bainos’, meaning a furnace for melting metals or baking the typical limestone rocks into lime. When we read Bainos, the sound immediately evokes an esperantic ‘from us’ and we like to think that the Greek toponym already somehow encapsulated our country’s innate sense of hospitality.
Why choose a B&B Staying in a B&B doesn’t simply represent a place where you can spend the night and have a small meal in the morning, but it is the experience of a more human, warm and familiar dimension that becomes an opportunity for cultural exchange and a source of enrichment both for the guest and for us, the hosts. The idea of opening a B&B in Baunei arose from the hope of being able to offer hospitality to those who want to discover Sardinia not only in summer but also in the other seasons, which are in many ways exceptional. Spring, autumn and the warm winter can, in fact, offer a special charm characterised by silence and solitude. Baunei is certainly no exception in the panorama of infinite interesting aspects offered by the entire island, and reveals so many peculiarities, a world to be discovered, assimilated and understood, a world of ‘unique things’ that maintain intact their balance between Nature and Man.
