Starting point: Località Piredda on Golgo plateau, Baunei
Description: from Baunei, you take the road direction Golgo plateau (turn right after San Nicola Church, following the signs to San Pietro- Golgo). After some hairpin turns, you reach first the Supramonte, and then, after 8 km downhill, the small San Pietro church (the first stretch is on a paved road, the last one on a dirt road you take after turning right and following the direction to Cala Sisine).
After one and a half km, near Nuraghe Orgoduri, you turn right to Ispuligidenie (it is a wooden sign), and after driving for a while on an uneven road, you reach a sheepfold, in front of which there is a clearing. You can leave your car here and start walking north (if you drive a Jeep, you can even reach as far as the next clearing). After a 15 minutes’ walk you reach Località Piredda (you will find the same name on the map), which is a wide gravel open space: from this viewpoint, if you look left, you will see Bacu Mudaloru and its access to the sea; if you look northeast, you will see Serra Lattone summit, which is our destination.
You take the small footpath on your right, after 5 minutes you leave it, in order to take another one on your right: on your left there is a holly oak, and a white rock marks the turning point on your right, at 410 a.s.l. You will get to a structure used to gather the rainwater and as drinking trough for animals: from here, you walk along the hillside, direction NE. The trail gets steeper and steeper: you will see red signs pointing at the fork to Bacu Boladaina (a passage of “Selavaggio Blu” Itinerary). Here you turn left, walking uphill, until you reach the old and abandoned sheepfolds of Cuilese de S’Arcu ‘e su Tasaru.
After these, you go past the fist and the second hut, direction north (530 a.s.l.): you will reach the height of 560 m., after a small ascent on the Serra ‘e Lattone side, whose highest altitude is 588 m. The trail is always well visible, thanks to some volunteers, who worked hard to get the passage more accessible. After a few meters, this track runs downhill: you will enjoy spectacular views of the crescent-shaped Orosei Gulf.
Then, you get to the first juniper passageway (Scalone), and to a deposit of debris: in front of you, there is a breath-taking rock arch, inside the mountain. At its left, there is a little wooden door; walking on a second passageway, you pass a height difference of about 10 m. Keep walking downwards and then, thanks to juniper ladders, you pass a third leap. From now on, you must be extremely careful, because of many little leaps. Where it is quite hard to overcome them, you will find protective railings. After a little while, you enter a holly oak forest, and weaving between the trees, you follow the old coalmen road. Now you can catch sight of the blue sea…but you reach another fork: on your right, the trail runs to the Cala dei Gabbiani (Seagull Cove). You take instead the well visible path on your left, thus getting to a small plane where you can still admire an ancient furnace, built by the charcoal burners. The last wooden ladder allows you to overcome the last leap among the cliffs, until you can finally reach a beautiful beach, made up of white, tiny pebbles, which look like tiny snow fleas: Ispuligi de Nie!
