Hiking to Cala Goloritzé
Starting point: Località “Su Porteddu” on Golgo Plateau, Baunei
You reach the Golgo plateau by car from Bunei village. If you are coming from the south, you should turn left, right after San Nicola Church (follow the signs to “Golgo”), and after some hairpin turns uphill you get to the plateau. After 8 km, you leave the paved road, in order to take a dirt one on the right (signs to “Cala Goloritzé”). You will find the parking place and the bar “Su Porteddu” after about 1 and a half km.
Leave the car in the guarded parking place and take a well visible footpath running high in altitude to 470 m a.s.l. You keep walking on the mule track, to get into the Bacu Goloritzé, which is the rill taking you to the grove of the same name. This track runs easily downhill through giant holly oaks, old animal dens and typical Mediterranean bushes. At about a hundred meters from the beach, you go past the Goloritzè limestone pinnacle, which represents the final destinations for many hikers (the couple Manolo – Gogna were the first ones to reach its top in January 1981). The access is quite easy, thanks to wooden passageways.
